About Young Alberta
How this started.

This is the view from Bear's Hump hike at Waterton Lakes National Park. Definitely one of Alberta's gems! Add it to your bucket list ;)
I love Alberta. I was born here and grew up around southern Alberta. Whenever I travel abroad, there's nothing like driving back across the Montana border and seeing the Rocky Mountains. It feels like home every time.
As I reached adulthood I encountered many discussions about the future of our country and our province, but I simply didn't have much experience with these issues compared to my older relatives and neighbours.
Social media didn't help much either. I found myself overwhelmed with snippets of disconnected information, a whirlwind of opinions, a fair dose of conflict, and very little context to put it all together. I was sure I wasn't alone in feeling a little anxious about it all. I often wished there was a comprehensive resource for young people to get balanced information.
Our generation faces unique challenges, but I have also been so inspired by my peers who are facing them with creativity and optimism. As they shared their stories with me the idea for Young Alberta was born: combine all these opportunities into one platform to help inform, connect, and inspire young adults across Alberta.
Thanks for joining me and my little team as we create this together!
